Welcome to Haiwelt!
The word "shark" is a myth. It immediately calls forth abysmal hatred in people. Since the dawn of mankind there have been shark attacks, with the man always seemed to forget that he is always in a completely foreign element for him, the water went. They did not understand why the shark attacked, because you had no chance the shark and explore with him his behavior more closely.
The result was that more and more horror stories were told and the shark was thus seen in a still worse light. Today it is hard to convince people that sharks are beautiful and unique creatures. But I see it as our duty to protect these fascinating animals. To protect ourselves ..
It does not look good for the shark!
Currently it looks bleak for the shark: Of the nearly 500 known species already on the countless Red List maintained (see also Shark Foundation: Endangered speciesCf "Current shark protection"). However, not all shark species are recorded, which is probably largely due to the lack of exploration (more on this below "Problems in the shark-protection"). Under www.sharkinfo.ch/SI4_00d/liste.html it says on this subject:
But what about the other 400 species of sharks? Are any of them in a vulnerable state? However, because these species are either so rare that they almost never gets to see, or they can not for financial reasons are examined. This can of course then the question, what good is a list of endangered species, if not known which species are endangered and how the additional listed species in relation to the investigation have not yet?
A majestic white shark (Carcharodon carcharias). Today, one of rare sight. The Red List has recorded the great white shark long ago ... he will soon be completely gone from the scene?

It would be appropriate at the present time to make a precautionary measure only once every shark species under some protection, then, after appropriate investigations are not endangered species re-release of the catch. If the density of a population so small that no partner can be found to breed more, it is referred to as biologically extinct. If such a state once entered, is good for no more protective measure to save the nature nor can.
As you can see, there is an urgent time to do something for the sharks! Whether corals or the mole, many endangered creatures have been and are being protected. Not so the shark. But if the shark is not protected soon, it may be too late ...
On the following pages I will try to provide you with the shark a little closer. I want to help you along the way, to understand the sharks a little better. Because one thing is certain: Sharks are not as vicious as they are often portrayed!
